The theory and practice of preparing adult educators

Abstract

The article describes the development of adult educator training in England and Wales. It also looks at the sector outside of universities and at the role of universities in the training of adult educators. Estimates and thoughts concerning the outcome of training are brought forward. The author places particular emphasis on the relationship between theory and practice at various stages of training.
